Who do you want to be in three months?
Nine months?
One year?
How do you want to feel?
If you’re like thousands of women living with an autoimmune disease, your health story doesn’t begin now. It began before you were born. Your grandmother’s diet, internal and external environment started the genetic story that you’re still writing today.
But now you’re ready to take charge of that story. You can be more than a passive reader in your life! You can be the author of the next chapters!
Health coaching is about empowering you in the lifelong health skills you need to take back your story.
It’s my goal to start this relationship with a breakup in mind.
You can’t exercise only one time and enjoy strong muscles for the rest of your life. You can’t eat only one serving of vegetables and have a happy gut microbiome for the rest of your life. Health requires daily habits.
In our work together, we’ll tailor the process to your unique needs, depending on your goals and concerns. It might look something like this:
Visit 1: Getting to know you. After your free 15-minute chat, during which we’ll see if Palmer Health is a good fit for your needs, you’ll schedule your initial visit. This is long: about 50 minutes. Before this visit, you’ll fill out paperwork (fair warning: it’s a lot!) with lots of questions about your present and past health experiences. We’ll talk about it.
Visit 2: Depending on what we uncover in the paperwork and first visit, we might start something like a gentle elimination diet to begin the process of investigating the most and least nourishing foods for your unique body. We’ll consider which lab tests make the most sense in this stage of investigating the root causes of your symptoms, and get those ordered.
Visit 3: While waiting on lab test results to come back, we’ll continue monitoring your reactions to foods. We’ll try some vitamins and supplements, as well as herbs. If you’re already taking a ton of vitamins and supplements, we might take some out of the rotation to find out what’s truly serving you and what’s muddying the waters.
Next visits: We’ll really be picking up steam, here. We’ll learn which supplements and herbs are a good fit for your body, and which need to be avoided. We’ll start to construct a diet that tells your body it’s safe and loved. We’ll incorporate lifestyle habits to improve sleep, energy and mental clarity. Low and slow is usually the best policy for the longest and most impactful results. Once labs come back, we’ll be able to dig into re-balancing based on those results.
Once you feel more balanced and in control of the daily decisions that make you the author of your health story, you’ll be ready to do it all on your own!
How long does this take?
It’s completely unique to each person. For some, only a few months is what it takes to launch a successful health plan. For others, it might take a year to unpack the root causes keeping you from your personal best. With this in mind, I ask you to commit to three-month increments of care, to allow the process to really work.
Pricing:
First 15-minute call: free
First 50-minute visit: $125
Each month of care after initial visit: $200 per month
This includes two, 25-minute visits with Dr. Meghan Palmer per month. These can be in-person or via video conference. Each month of care also includes asynchronous text messaging through the patient portal, so you can ask questions about our care plan. Are potatoes causing an emotional reaction? Could the new supplement be upsetting your stomach? Did I tell you to avoid seed-based spices, or add them to your diet? You’re confused about the elimination diet — could I clarify? I’ll be available throughout the month to answer questions like these and help you through each stage of the process. *Note: if you feel you are having a medical emergency, a mental health emergency or a severe allergic reaction, go to your nearest emergency or urgent care facility.
Note about health insurance:
I am unable to accept health insurance at this time. However, if you are insured and have an established relationship with a healthcare provider who takes insurance, we can work with them to order labs to best utilize the insurance you have.
